Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard is planning to lace them back up on Saturday against the San Antonio Spurs, according to Jason Quick of NBC Sports NorthWest.

The All-Star point guard missed Thursday's game against the Houston Rockets but claimed his left ankle sprain is feeling a lot better and could join his teammates for the last three games of the season.

The Blazers have lost three of their last five games, but remain a strong bet to garner the third seed in the West after a rousing post-All-Star-break run that catapulted them to the top of the playoff board.

Lillard has cooled off considerably from a hot-shooting month of February, but the sixth-year guard could wound up leading the NBA in free-throw percentage this year, in a deadlock at 92.1 percent with Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry, though favored by makes, attempts, and games played.

Lillard has not missed more than one free throw in a game since exactly one month ago against the New York Knicks, boasting his best acumen at the foul line and the being above the 90 percentile for the first time in his career.

The Weber State product is likely to be among the names running for the Most Valuable Player award after a strong second half of the season.
