The Monday night matchup between the New York Knicks and the Brooklyn Nets came to a controversial end as the referees made a questionable traveling call on Julius Randle in the dying seconds. And Damian Lillard gave his two cents.

Lillard, who's having an incredible year, chimed in on Twitter, voicing his confusion with the critical call made by NBA veteran official Scott Foster. Lillard evidently agreed with Randle that it was a bad call, which ultimately cost the Knicks the game, 117-112.

His remark led to concerns from fans that Lillard might receive a fine for his criticism of the officiating. This season, NBA stars like Draymond Green have received fines for similar incidents of speaking out about the referees. Dame, however, brushed off this notion, saying he is simply “asking a question.”

The Knicks were down 115-113 with just under five seconds left in the final frame against the Nets. Randle received the inbound pass and began to shoot a three-pointer. He was met by Nets superstar Kyrie Irving's contest, which caused Randle to land without shooting the ball. The whistle was blown for a traveling violation, much to the dismay of the Knicks main man. He was adamant that Irving tipped the ball, which would have allowed him to regain control and take another shot, as Lillard implied.

The decision was upheld, and James Harden iced the game at the free throw line for the Nets. After the final buzzer, a visibly upset Randle sought out veteran official Scott Foster, presumably to discuss the call. The usually mild-manner former Kentucky standout then kicked a chair on his way to the locker room.

It is unclear if the NBA will fine Damian Lillard for his words on social media.
