Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard has been humble his whole life, and while he still is, the All-Star guard has something to get off his chest.

Lillard, who passed power forward LaMarcus Aldridge for second place on the Blazers' all-time scoring list recently, says he is “one of the best players in the NBA.”

“I’m one of the best players in the NBA,” said Lillard, via Shaun Powell of NBA.com. “Tell me how I’m not? That’s not pride talking. That’s facts.

“I have a chip on my shoulder for how I had to get here and where I come from, and also how I’m viewed. Sometimes I’m delusional about it. I might be wrong when I make myself think certain stuff. But it works for me. Every little thing I use as wood on the fire.”

In 69 games this season for the Blazers, Damian Lillard has only further validated his case of being a top NBA player.

The four-time All-Star is averaging 26.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game while shooting 45.1 percent from the field, 37.0 percent from beyond the arc and 91.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Lillard is 10th in the NBA in points per game.

He is looking to lead the Blazers on a deep playoff run after getting swept in the first round of the 2018 playoffs by the New Orleans Pelicans.
