As we inch closer to All-Star Weekend, the picture for the always entertaining 3-Point Contest is becoming much clearer, and another Portland Trail Blazer is entering the mix.

Damian Lillard will be competing in the 3-Point Contest this year, according to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes. He’ll join his fellow Blazer Seth Curry, who was confirmed to be joining the contest earlier this week.

With the addition of Lillard and Curry, the field for the 3-Point Contest is beginning to come into focus. Alongside Seth will be his brother Stephen Curry, and alongside those three players will reportedly be Dirk Nowitzki, who confirmed last week that he would be participating.

The early favorites might be the elder Curry thanks to his uncanny ability to shoot, Lillard is no slouch. He currently finds himself making 37.1 percent of his three-pointers, which is currently a career-high if he can keep it up.

While Lillard’s numbers may not best either Curry, Lillard is currently attempting nearly as many threes as Steph, so his chances to win might be a bit better than Seth when you consider that the youngest Curry is only attempting 2.8 three-pointers a game.

Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker won the 2018 3-point contest, lightning up the contest for a record-setting 28 points in the final round.

The participants for this year’s contest have yet to be announced, but with more and more participants being tipped ahead of time, it shouldn’t be too long before we know what the full field will look like.

The event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 16 at the Spectrum Center.
