The Toronto Blue Jays had a rather eventful off-season. After a tumultuous 2021 season that saw them play out of the home stadium in Canada, fans and players are expecting a return to normalcy. However, one member of their coaching staff got himself in trouble for a completely avoidable offense.

Pete Walker, the Blue Jays' pitching coach since 2012, was booked in a Florida prison this Saturday for driving under the influence. This report comes from The Athletic, which also states that Walker was released after paying a $500 bond. Walker addressed this issue after the team's Grapefruit League match against the Yankees.

“There was a traffic incident on Thursday night that I was involved in. I'm very apologetic to the Blue Jays organization, Blue Jays fans and my family. I'm working with my attorney to get resolution to this right now. My apologies to my three daughters, as well. Right now, we're working through that with my attorney for resolution and that is the only comment I'll have right now.”

The Blue Jays' pitcher rotation has been on the uptrend recently. Last season, they housed the eventual AL Cy Young Award winner Robbie Ray. Despite Ray leaving the team for the Seattle Mariners, Toronto still has a pretty good starting rotation, with All-Star pitcher Yusei Kikuchi joining Hyun-Jin Ryu and Jose Berrios.

The biggest splash that the Blue Jays had in the offseason, though, was with regards to their infield. In a surprising turn of events, they acquired former Athletics infielder Matt Chapman, as they look to load up on the offensive side of the ball. Chapman joins a stellar list of hitters on the team, such as Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Lourdes Gurriel Jr., and George Springer.
