Most people would say that Zion Williamson is the New Orleans Pelicans' star player. However, Brandon Ingram was actually an All-Star last year and is already showing he's raising the level of his game this season.

On the daily Locked On Pelicans Podcast, host Jake Madison recapped the Pelicans win over the Raptors and explained why it was the most impressive game of Brandon Ingram's career.

Jake Madison: I was asked recently, who's the leader of this team? I said it needs to be Brandon Ingram. I didn't know if he was capable of doing it, but you might have seen it in last night's game. He without a doubt is the reason why the Pelicans won. Stan Van Gundy said he didn't yell at them at halftime. He didn't really make any adjustments. It was on them to kind of do it and Brandon Ingram is the person that stepped up and made sure that his teammates were doing it as well. That should be music to your ears if you're a Pelicans fan.

Brandon Ingram has needed to be that leader for a long time now, for all of last season. The fact that he flipped that switch and turned it on himself playing some of the most amazing basketball that I think I've seen from him. He's had a 50-point game, I was more impressed with this game from him that I was in the 50-point game. This was exactly what you wanted to see out of Brandon Ingram and the fact that it lifted the level of play from his teammates that much. Yes, this is potential All-NBA Brandon Ingram, he had a subpar performance against the Milwaukee Bucks in the second preseason game, but he made you forget all about that in last night's win over the Toronto Raptors.
