The Atlanta Braves have decided to bring back one of their star players as the team re-signed outfielder Marcell Ozuna to a long-term deal.

Ozuna was fantastic in his first run with the Braves after spending five seasons with the Miami Marlins and two with the St. Louis Cardinals. He had a .338 average with 18 homers and 56 RBI as the Braves reached the NLCS before losing to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The signing of Ozuna is a sigh of relief for the Braves as they look to make their way back to a deep playoff run. They just watched their division rival New York Mets acquire Francisco Lindor in a huge trade in the offseason, and the Washington Nationals still sport one of the best teams in baseball.

The Braves also signed starting pitcher Charlie Morton in the offseason, and the lineup of Freddie Freeman, Ozzie Albies, Ronald Acuna Jr., and Ozuna is one of the best in all of baseball.

With the Super Bowl just days away, the MLB stole the show on Friday after NL Cy Young winner Trevor Bauer announced he was joining the Dodgers, and the Braves doubled down and made a splash signing of their own by bringing back Ozuna.

The MLB and MLBPA have discussed delaying the start to the regular season, but those talks have stalled and it looks like the regular season will start soon enough.

Ozuna had four 20-plus home run seasons during his time between the Marlins and the Cardinals, and if it wasn't for the shortened 2020 season, Ozuna would've gone far above that number.
