Rudy Gobert got what was expected.

The Stifle Tower agreed to a four-year, $102 million extension with the Utah Jazz Monday, which was the deadline to complete such deals.

Gobert has developed into one of the best defensive centers in the league, now in his fourth year. Last year, he averaged career-highs with 9.1 points and 11.0 rebounds while blocking 2.2 shots per game.

The native of France helps make up a talented, young frontline in Utah that includes Derrick Favors. Those two along with Gordon Hayward and Rodney Hood have Jazz fans optimistic about the future of the franchise.

While this deal took until the deadline, there was never any real doubt as to whether or not it would get done. Gobert does end up taking roughly $19 million less than what a maximum contract would have been worth.
