The Denver Broncos suffered a devastating loss to the Cleveland Browns on Saturday night, dropping them to 6-8 and putting them on the verge of postseason elimination.

Broncos quarterback Case Keenum was very angry with himself after the defeat, unhappy with his performance in the fourth quarter, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk:

“That’s what I dream about, that’s what I want,” Keenum told reporters after the 17-16 loss to the Browns. “I want the ball in my hands with a chance to go win the game. And to get that close, and to not, it pisses me off. I know my mom is going to be mad for using that word, but it hurts.”

Denver head coach Vance Joseph also came under fire after the loss, as he decided to go for a field goal from the Browns' six-yard line when his team was trailing 17-13 with 4:36 remaining.

However, the Broncos' defense held up after converting the field goal, so it seemed that Joseph made the correct decision to trust his defense. Denver's offense just could not cash in. Keenum understands that, as well.

“I can’t complain because I had the ball in my hands with a chance to win the game,” Keenum said of the sequence of decisions that likely sealed the team’s playoff fate. “It’s all I can ask for.”

Keenum went 31-for-48 with 257 yards and a couple of interceptions in a performance he will remember for all of the wrong reasons.

“A lot of anger at myself,” Keenum said. “There were some plays I could make that didn’t and then some plays that I want back today, but, yeah, a lot of anger.”

Overall this season, the 30-year-old has thrown for 3,396 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 12 picks.
