With teams tossing the pads back on only a few days ago, it already doesn't look good for Cleveland Browns linebacker Mack Wilson, who suffered a potentially serious knee injury during practice this week.

According to a joint report from Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, it appears as though Wilson's knee injury could end his 2020 campaign before it even truly begins.

However, Rapoport did make a point to note that “all options are on the table” for Mack, though season-ending surgery to repair the damage remains on that list of options.

“Browns promising [linebacker] Mack Wilson suffered a significant hyperextended knee in practice today, sources tell me and [Ian Rapoport],” Garafolo tweeted on Tuesday evening. “He will miss some time and more evaluations coming before timeframe becomes clear. Not ideal but Cleveland still hoping for decent news.”

The 22-year-old Mack originally broke into the league just last season as the Browns selected the former Alabama Crimson Tide standout in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. As a rookie last season, the up-and-coming linebacker impressed in a big way to the tune of producing 82 tackles, one sack, seven pass defenses, one interception and one fumble recovery. He went on to appear in all 16 regular-season games for the Browns while notably starting 14 of those contests.

The Browns will need all the help they can get in 2020 as Cleveland will still be forced to deal with the Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC North division.
