The Cleveland Browns are coming off a disappointing loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 13. Fortunately, it does not appear quarterback Baker Mayfield is feeling any lingering effects from the game.

Mayfield had injured his hand during the 20-13 loss to the Steelers. Head coach Freddie Kitchens does not expect him to be limited in any fashion in practice this week, via Scott Petrak of The Chronicle-Telegram:

Browns Freddie Kitchens says Baker Mayfield won't be limited in practice after hurting hand Sunday.

This is certainly an encouraging update for Cleveland. Mayfield had not fared much better in the second half when he made his return after completing 8-of-15 attempts for 98 yards while committing two turnovers.

Mayfield already been in the midst of a disappointing performance in the 2019 NFL season, however, a potential hand injury would have made things much worse over the final four games.

It is no secret that the Browns have fallen vastly short of expectations they fully embraced during the offseason. Despite having quite the talented supporting cast, Mayfield has not been able to get anything going in Kitchens' offense and has seemingly regressed from the kind of promise he showed as a rookie.

Despite their struggles this season, Cleveland still has yet to be officially eliminated from the playoffs. The onus will fall on them to win out and try to sneak into the playoffs by securing a Wild Card spot with a 9-7 record.

In order to do so, they will need Mayfield to provide a much-needed spark for a potential resurgence on offense.
