Cleveland Browns DT Malik McDowell has reportedly been arrested for public exposure and beating a police deputy.

According to a report from South Florida Sun-Sentinel (via ProFootball Talk), the Browns player's assault against the police deputy was a “violent attack” that left the officer “dazed”.

The run-in with the authorities was said to be due to a distress call from a local of Deerfield Beach, Florida who claimed to have encountered Malik McDowell naked and walking around the premises of a school.

The Browns organization has released a statement on the matter as they gather more details about the incident.

“We are aware of the very concerning incident and arrest involving Malik McDowell and are in the process of fathering more information. We understand the severity of this matter and our thoughts are for the well-being of all involved. We will have no further comment at this time.”

Malik McDowell played in 15 games for the Cleveland Browns this season, starting in all but one of those games. He was originally drafted by the Seattle Seahawks back in 2017. However, following an ATV accident and a subsequent series of problems with the law, he was eventually waived.
