When the Green Bay Packers traded defensive back Damarious Randall to the Cleveland Browns for DeShone Kizer two years ago, it was seen as a questionable move by many. Now that the Packers have cut Kizer, it seems even more questionable.

According to Randall himself, though, he’s always thought it was laughable that he was dealt for the quarterback.

According to a profile on the Browns by Tyler Dunne for Bleacher Report, Randall always knew that trading him away for Kizer would be bad for Green Bay.

“I knew it'd go down as one of the worst trades in Green Bay Packers history,” Randall says. “Any time I want to feel like I'm on my high horse, I still look back like, Damn, they really traded me for DeShone Kizer? No offense to him, but at the end of the day—c'mon now.”

While Randall made the comments in August, according to Dunne, he’s likely feeling even higher up on his horse now. Although the team parted ways with Randall due to viewing him as immature, the team didn’t get much value in return.

After a disappointing stint with the Packers, culminating in a pretty bad preseason, the team parted ways with Kizer, who was unable to show the type of growth many had hoped he would.

Now with the Browns, Randall has become a somewhat key part of a defense that is ready to take the league by storm. Alongside a rising defense, the Browns also boast a potentially lethal offense, led by quarterback Baker Mayfield and newly acquired superstar Odell Beckham Jr. If they’re able to compete for a Super Bowl title any time soon, Randall might feel even better about the deal.
