Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson finally ceded playcalling duties this season to offensive coordinator Todd Haley after taking on that role during his first two years with the team.

But after the Browns offense’s disappointing performance in Sunday's overtime loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a frustrated Jackson didn’t rule out the possibility of taking the reins over from Haley.

“It’s not going to be about butting heads,” Jackson said when asked about the possibility, via Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “I’m the head coach of the football team. I will do what I feel I need to do to get this team where it needs to be.”

Jackson’s comments come on the heels of the Browns putting up just 23 points and 305 yards of total offense against the Buccaneers, who have one of the worst defenses in the league, through four quarters and overtime.

Jackson voiced his displeasure over how the offense has played this season. The Browns entered the game ranked 20th in total offense, 23rd in passing, and 23rd in scoring at 21.6 points per game. He believes it’s his right as the head coach to step in to help fix what he feels has been an underperforming unit.

Jackson confirmed that Haley's called all the plays so far this season. However, he didn’t commit to whether Haley would still be in charge of calling plays next week when the Browns play at Pittsburgh, where Haley spent the previous six seasons as the Steelers’ OC.
