It's no secret that Cleveland Browns running back Duke Johnson wants to be traded, and it has caused some friction in the locker room, as evidenced by Baker Mayfield ripping him for it last month. But Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry does not think Johnson's trade request will become a bigger problem moving forward:

“It will not be a distraction,’’ Landry said, according to Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer. “Our focus is pretty clear. We want to win a championship and the guys that are here, that’s going to help us do that. We start on Thursday. Let’s get it done.’’

Johnson does not seem happy with his role, as while he will be the Browns' No. 2 running back through the first eight games of the season, he will be moved down to third once Kareem Hunt returns.

Due to the fact that Johnson plays more of a James White role, serving as more of a pass-catcher than a runner, however, he should still have a place within Cleveland's offense even with Hunt coming back.

Johnson is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he played all 16 games and rushed for 201 yards while hauling in 47 receptions for 429 yards and three touchdowns.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Miami, was originally selected by the Browns in the third round (77th pick overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.

He caught 61, 53 and 74 passes, respectively, in each of his first three seasons before 2018.

The Browns don't seem intent on trading him.
