The decision has been made: Cleveland Browns pass rusher Myles Garrett will remain suspended for the remainder of the 2019 season for hitting Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph on the head with his own helmet.

However, the team is behind its defensive end, making a show of support for the 23-year-old. While Garrett's actions are unacceptable and have no place in the NFL, their tweet shows the level of trust they have with the man they picked first overall in 2017.

“He was open and honest with us about the incident from the start,” the Browns' statement reads. “He has taken accountability for his actions on Thursday night and this situation will not define him.”

This action they took for Garrett is something he definitely appreciated as well. He took to Twitter to thank the team for the support they've showered him with.

The NFL handed down the decision to uphold the season-long ban they slapped on Garrett, citing that they didn't find a relevant-enough reason to drop the case.

According to CBS Sports' John Breech, the defender angled his defense on the idea that Rudolph apparently shot a racial slur towards him that angered him and started the entire fight. Rudolph's lawyer and the Steelers fiercely denied the allegations made by the defensive end, calling him an outright liar.

Garrett is one of the Browns' defensive anchors. Through ten games of football, he's notched a total of 29 tackles, two pass deflections, and 10.0 sacks. His defensive presence is something the Browns will miss as they try to make the playoffs.
