Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson made headlines when he indicated that he would take on a larger role in the offense. As a result, there has been plenty of speculation regarding how that would sit with offensive coordinator Todd Haley.

It appears Haley is not bothered by his decision. According to Daryl Ruiter of 92.3 The Fan, he feels the entire coaching staff is already on the same page:

“No not at all. I've been around a long time in this league, different personalities…one thing I'll never be is reactionary…I'm here to help this offense grow…we're all on the same page. Nothing has changed”

Haley added that there have not been any significant changes recently.

“It's been the same as it's always been”- Todd Haley on Hue Jackson's involvement

It is no secret that the Browns offense had struggled to get on the board over the last few weeks. However, they finally managed to show some promise during their loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 7. Quarterback Baker Mayfield completed 23-of-34 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns. He recently touched up the new dynamic in the coaching staff by pinning of the execution by the players. Regardless, it is certainly encouraging to see Mayfield find his footing.

Cleveland currently ranks 22nd in the league in total offense and 23rd in points per game. With Jackson's seat getting warmer with each loss, it should come as no surprise to see him try and take on an expanded role. However, it remains to be seen whether or not he actually follows through on it. Todd Haley is familiar with the Pittsburgh Steelers, so that may give him the edge in trying to come up with an effective scheme to match their high-powered offense.
