Plenty of Cleveland Browns fans have given up on the team’s chances of winning a game this season, but it seems like the team’s communication equipment gave up on the Browns first.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, Browns head coach Hue Jackson was ticked off by what he said was malfunctioning headsets during their game against the L.A. Chargers last Sunday at StubHub Center, and even said that it wasn’t the first time it happened that a team had to deal with such issue in the stadium.

“This is a league issue,” said Jackson. “We'll take it up with the league. We heard there was another team that had the same issue one time at that particular stadium. I felt bad because DeShone (Kizer) had to handle all of that and handle playing the game.”

Jackson, however, made it clear that he’s not using the impaired headsets as an excuse for the Browns’ 19-10 loss, but it insinuated that it hindered them in the contest.

“He’s not going to make excuses and neither am I. This is not an excuse. These things really happen so we had to do with it. That’s not why we lost that game — I will be the first to tell everybody that — but it sure didn’t help some of the situations that we were in.”

Surely, the Browns have bigger issues at hand that explain why they are still winless after 13 weeks of the 2017 NFL season. Against the Chargers, their defense was a wreck as usual, as they got torched by Philip Rivers and company for 429 total yard. Cleveland also turned the ball over twice, both charged to Kizer, who tossed an interception and lost a fumble.

At the very least, the defective headsets stand as a metaphor for the 0-12 Browns, who now only have four games left on their schedule to try to get a win.
