There has been plenty of speculation regarding which quarterback the Cleveland Browns will take with either of their top-5 picks in the 2018 NFL Draft. Regardless of who they pick, there will not be any immediate pressure to come in and contribute thanks to the team's acquisition of quarterback Tyrod Taylor.

The addition of Taylor brings a certain sense of stability under center which is something the Browns have not had in two decades. According to Patrick Maks of the team's website, he is also looking forward to stepping into a leadership role for the team:

“I welcome that, it definitely has to come from the quarterback position,” Taylor said. “I’m looking forward to leading the guys here.”

Despite his unusual season finale with the Buffalo Bills, Taylor enjoyed a promising tenure with the team. He started immediately after coming over from the Baltimore Ravens prior to the 2015 NFL season and even managed to earn a trip to the Pro Bowl in his first year as a starter.

However, the rebuilding process in Buffalo resulted in the departures of a number of their key players over the past several years. It became evident during the 2017 campaign that Taylor was soon going to be the last piece to go.

Regardless, there is plenty to be excited about for Cleveland fans. Taylor is well-known for his versatile skill set as both a passer and a runner. However, he is also one of the best decision makers in the NFL as well after throwing just 14 picks over the past three seasons.

Furthermore, he also has some weapons in his arsenal to work with in wide receivers Jarvis Landry and Josh Gordon. That said, the transition into a leadership role should be a seamless one for Taylor.
