The Cleveland Browns already have a deep set of receivers even after they traded Corey Coleman to the Buffalo Bills earlier this week. That could get deeper if their interest in free agent wideout Brandon LaFell leads to a signing.

According to Tony Grossi of ESPN, the Browns seem to be keeping a close eye on LaFell, who was recently released by the Cincinnati Bengals.

The veteran wideout played his last two seasons in the NFL with the Bengals, and over that stretch, he racked up 1,410 receiving yards and nine touchdown receptions on 116 catches. His best season thus far in his career, however, was that of his stint with the New England Patriots in 2014, when he recorded 953 receiving yards, seven touchdowns, and 74 receptions.

The Browns are expected to feature the tandem of Jarvis Landry and Josh Gordon downfield, as the primary targets of quarterback Tyrod Taylor in the 2018 season. Should LaFell join the Browns, he’s unlikely to replace either Landry or Gordon in the No. 1 and No. 2 WR spots, but he’ll be a big help in keeping Cleveland’s air attack consistently potent.

Apart from Brandon LaFell, the Browns reportedly have interest in free agent Dez Bryant, who remains unemployed months after the Dallas Cowboys cut him.

Last season, the Browns had one of the most putrid offenses in the league, as they ranked last in scoring offense and were only 24th in total offense. That’s bound to change, however, with general manager John Dorsey injecting plenty of talent to the team this offseason.
