The worst kept rumor of the offseason appears to still have some legs with the Cleveland Browns still having interest in Gerald McCoy. According to Steve Doershuk of cantonrep.com, McCoy is still squarely on the Browns radar even though he is still a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

According to the report, one of the big sticking points in getting a deal done is the money involved in making a trade happen. McCoy is due $13 million this season and then $10 million in each of the next two seasons, and that doesn't appear to be a number the Browns want to trade for.

To get a deal done the Browns could ask McCoy to restructure his deal or they can continue to play the waiting game and hope the Buccaneers will straight up release him.

The Buccaneers also need to figure out how the best way to attack this is. If they go into training camp with him still on the roster and can't find a trade partner they will probably have to release him because they are very strapped for cash.

If that becomes the case, they would probably release him and not get back in anything in return. This seems to be a cat and mouse game that could still take a while to figure out, especially if neither of these teams wants to budge until training camp.

There is still a chance that McCoy plays for the Buccaneers, but it seems most signs point towards him being with the Browns next year.
