The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have generated plenty of hype this offseason with the signing of quarterback Tom Brady. It appears tight end Cameron Brate has been tasked with bringing him up to speed with the offense.

Brate said during an appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio that has been the one going over some of the schematics of Tampa Bay's offense:

“It’s a little weird now working with him at the beginning of his Bucs tender because we’re kinda teaching him our verbiage,” Brate said. “It’s kind of a backwards way of how it’s probably going to progress during the season with him kinda teaching us about the game and how he sees things.”

Brate's comments are certainly understandable considering Brady has likely seen every trick in the book through his illustrious 20-year career. It is safe to say that it may only be a matter of time before the tables are turned.

The fact that Brate was the one chosen to help Brady with the transition. The Buccaneers have secured a surplus of talent at tight end with Rob Gronkowski joining him and O.J. Howard. As a result, he has been considered to be somewhat of an afterthought when it comes down to the pecking order in Brady's arsenal.

Regardless, it is clear that Brate's grasp of the Bucs offense is second-to-none when it comes to players on the roster. This has allowed him to get a head start on building a rapport with Brady and could very well help pay huge dividends for their chemistry on the field.
