Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans exited the team's Week 4 game against the Los Angeles Chargers in the first quarter after suffering an apparent ankle injury.

Evans could be seen grabbing his ankle on the sideline moments after an awkward tackle after a reception. Evans and a Buccaneers trainer then took off into the Raymond James Stadium tunnel and toward the X-ray room:

However, the ankle injury doesn't appear to be too serious or painful, as Evans returned to the field before the end of an eventful first quarter.

Evans had three receptions for 47 yards in the opening frame prior to leaving the game, including a 24-yard grab. On the season, the three-time Pro Bowler has 13 receptions for 155 yards so far in the 2020 campaign.

It has not been an ideal start for the Buccaneers. Not long after Evans left the field, Tom Brady threw a pick-6 to Chargers cornerback Michael Davis. The Chargers (1-2) went up 21-7 early in the second quarter.

Tampa Bay (2-1) is already playing with a shorthanded offense. Evans' star counterpart, wide receiver Chris Godwin, was ruled out with a hamstring injury, while running back Leonard Fournette also battles an ankle injury, forcing him to miss Sunday's action. The Buccaneers (and PPR owners) did receive some good news when WR Scotty Miller (hip/groin) was activated for the Chargers matchup after missing most of practice this week.

Every snap is important for Brady, as he works to build chemistry with his receivers and adapt to Bruce Arians' offense — both of which are obviously harder to do if his backs and receivers can't stay on the field. Tampa Bay has some work to do to come back against Los Angeles, and Evans will have to play a big role.
