Even at this late stage in his career, Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski simply continues to make history.

Gronkowski entered the Buccaneers’ Week 18 home clash against the Carolina Panthers with 31 career games of at least 100 receiving yards recorded. The five-time Pro Bowler sat in a tie with Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez for the most such games by a tight end in NFL history.

Over the second half of the Buccaneers’ NFC South encounter with Carolina, Gronkowski managed to tally for 100-plus receiving yards to move into sole possession of this all-time record in NFL history.

Overall, Gronkowski has been among quarterback Tom Brady’s most reliable targets this season, especially as he has notched a trio of 100-plus receiving yard games. More so, he finished regular season play with six receiving touchdowns, which comes after he hauled in seven such passes in his debut campaign with Tampa Bay last season.

In the big picture, Gronkowski sure continues to make a strong case to be the greatest tight end to ever play the sport. While he does not hold the all-time records for receptions or receiving yards by a tight end in NFL history, his sheer dominance on the field has already left behind a stout legacy.

For now, Gronkowski sure is looking ahead to the start of the NFL playoffs next week, as he will aim to help the Buccaneers successfully defend their Super Bowl title.
