Tom Brady and Dak Prescott orchestrated one astounding quarterback duel during the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ thrilling 31-29 season-opening win over the Dallas Cowboys.

Both quarterbacks came into the game with plenty of question marks. In his 22nd year in the NFL, many doubted before the season on just how much Brady has left in the tank at this point in his career. And for a quarterback just coming off of a season-ending ankle injury, there was uncertainty over how long it would take Prescott to put out for vintage performances.

The two star quarterbacks debunked plenty of narratives on Thursday night.

Brady had his way throughout the game against the new-look Cowboys defense. The three-time NFL MVP notched 32 completions, 379 passing yards and four passing touchdowns to go along with a formidable 97.0 passer rating.

On the other side, Prescott shined in one of the most potent performances of his career to date. The Cowboys star completed 42 passes, recorded 403 passing yards, threw for three passing touchdowns and notched a standout 101.4 passer rating.

Brady and Prescott went on to break one historic record during the game, as their 74 combined completions are the most in a single game in NFL history.

For Prescott, the 42 completions against Tampa Bay tied a personal high for him; the sixth-year quarterback also completed 42 passes during the Cowboys' key home win against the Philadelphia Eagles over the 2018 season.

Completing 30-plus passes in a game is far from a new feat for Tom Brady. The seven-time Super Bowl winner has completed at least 30 passes in a game an impressive 43 times, which is just among the more remarkable achievements of his storied career.

Both quarterbacks sure put on for one compelling show in the NFL's season opener.
