Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo added another feather to his cap on Sunday night with a career performance against the Philadelphia 76ers.

The 24-year-old logged a career-high 52 points against the Sixers, and in the process, became only the third European to eclipse the 50-point mark in the history of the league. This is per Antigoni Zachari of Eurohoops.net:

This time around, the Greek Freak joins Tony Parker and Dirk Nowitzki in a “Holy Trinity” of European players in the NBA who have scored 50 points and more. In fact, Giannis achieved the third-best offensive performance of a European up to this date!

Following Tony Parker’s 55 points in double overtime vs. Minnesota Timberwolves on November 8, 2008, and Dirk Nowitzki’s 53 points against Houston Rockets on December 2, 2004.

That's certainly some impressive company to be in for Giannis, as he continues to build his reputation as one of the greatest European players to ever enter the NBA.

Unfortunately for Antetokounmpo, his 52 points were not enough against a resolute Philadelphia side. Sixers big man Joel Embiid led the charge for his team with an amazing 40-point, 15-rebound double-double, as they emerged on top, 130-125, against the league-leading Bucks.

Giannis Antetokounmpo did all he could in this one, also grabbing 16 boards, dishing out seven assists, and draining three 3-pointers, but it would ultimately be in a losing effort.

The second-seeded Toronto Raptors also lost on Sunday against the surging Detroit Pistons, so despite Milwaukee's defeat, they still remain three games clear at the top of the Eastern Conference.
