The Milwaukee Bucks reached the postseason for the second season in a row, but just like last year, they were eliminated right in the very first round of the playoffs when they lost to an undermanned Boston Celtics squad. That setback, however, is not affecting Bucks forward Khris Middleton’s confidence in his team.

In a recent appearance on SiriusXM NBA Radio, Middleton expressed how much trust he has in his team to not only do well next season but also be among the top-tier clubs.

The Bucks finished the regular season with a 44-38 record, which was only good for seventh in the Eastern Conference but enough for them to sneak into the playoffs. Furthermore, that’s a two-win improvement from the 42-40 slate they had a year before.

Khris Middleton is going to be part of the Bucks’ core that returns next season under a new head coach in Mike Budenholzer. Middleton, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Eric Bledsoe form the team’s young Big Three, while the likes of Malcolm Brogdon, John Henson, and Thon Maker are expected to play satisfactory performances as part of a great supporting cast.

Middleton is coming off his best season thus far in his NBA career, averaging 20.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in 36.4 minutes while playing in all 82 regular-season games. He signed a five-year deal worth $70 million with the Bucks back in 2015.
