The Milwaukee Bucks have recently agreed on a contract extension with veteran guard Eric Bledsoe, and head coach Mike Budenholzer is ecstatic about the fact that he will be with the team for quite a long time.

“Beyond excited. … I’m glad he’s going to be with us for the next four years… It starts on the defensive end. We want to be great there and he’s very special and elite there.”

Bledsoe's contract is for $70 million over the next four years.

The Bucks continue to build a team that is not only a contender this season, but also for the coming years. Keeping Bledsoe allows Milwaukee to focus solely on Khris Middleton's free agency this June. Together with Giannis Antetokounmpo, the trio forms the core of the Bucks.

At the moment, Milwaukee currently owns the best record in the league at 47-14. They have also won six straight games and are likely going to own homecourt advantage throughout the postseason.

Aside from re-signing Bledsoe, the Bucks are also expected to sign veteran center and six-time All-Star Pau Gasol, who was bought out by the San Antonio Spurs.

The Bucks are seemingly prepared to make a deep run in the playoffs, and their recent signings give them security not only for the season, but also for the next couple of years.

It took a very long time before Milwaukee became contenders, but they are here now, ready to dominate the Eastern Conference.
