With the NBA Playoffs fast approaching, the Chicago Bulls are desperately trying to climb to the no. 4 spot in the Eastern Conference and gain homecourt advantage in the opening round. But with the way the team has been playing, that seems less and less likely.
The Bulls suffered their ninth loss in 12 games on Tuesday night after getting trampled by the Milwaukee Bucks, 126-98. Early in the season, the Bulls were the ones atop the ladder, while the Bucks were the ones struggling. But clearly, the tables have turned.
In a report by ESPN, Bulls star DeMar DeRozan couldn't hide his exasperation after their latest loss, which dropped them to 42-30, still good for the no. 5 spot in the Eastern Conference. Still, the squad could really do better.
“At some point, we've got to get tired of getting our butt kicked like this and flip that switch of understanding, all right, enough is enough. Now it's time to turn it around and show that desperation.”
While the All-Star guard didn't specifically call out anyone, the entire team should be fired up. DeRozan tallied 21 points against the Bucks but only shot 10-of-23 from the field.
The Bulls had a dismal start, as the Bucks jumped to an early double-digit lead in the first quarter. From there, DeRozan and company had a hard time crawling back, leading to another setback.
The Bulls will next face the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday.
