Indiana Pacers general manager Chad Buchanan will stay with the team and won't interview for the Chicago Bulls' top exec job, per Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

Buchanan cited how well he has been treated in Indianapolis in his decision to turn down the interview with the Bulls.

As Charania reports, the Chicago front office will move forward with Toronto Raptors GM Bobby Webster, Denver Nuggets GM Arturas Karnisovas and Miami Heat vice president of player personnel and assistant general manager Adam Simon.

Bulls COO Michael Reinsdorf is believed to be looking for front office depth. Whoever this new hire is will have the freedom to make additional hires if he wants to. Chicago is reportedly searching for a smart guy to be in charge of a brand new infrastructure.

However, exactly how brand new can it be if VP John Paxson and maybe Gar Forman are still there? Bulls fans desperately what Reinsdorf and his father, owner Jerry, to just get rid of Paxson and Forman and start from scratch.

It doesn't look like that's going to happen, though, at least in Paxson's case, as he is expected to still be in the decision-making room for the Bulls.

Chicago had a record of just 22-43 before the 2019-20 season was suspended due to COVID-19. The Bulls, who have been a joke since the Jimmy Butler trade, were in 11th place in the East.
