Scottie Pippen has long been among the most recognizable faces in Chicago Bulls lore, but he recently claimed he lost his gig as a special advisor. While discussing this firing, he delivered a savage jab at a struggling Bulls organization.

Via K.C. Johnson and Rob Schaefer of NBC Sports:

“It's probably a good thing, right?” Pippen said to Greenstein. “I like to associate myself with winning.”

Pippen said this on the Thuzio Live & Unfiltered podcast, which was recorded before the All-Star Game in Chicago. However, it was just released earlier this week, leading to these new headlines on the matter right in the midst of the Bulls making major changes to their front office.

The Bulls have been a dumpster fire in recent years, culminating in an embarrassing All-Star Weekend and this much-needed organizational overhaul. Pippen's former teammate John Paxson just stepped down as executive vice president of basketball operations, and general manager Gar Forman was shown the door.

Strangely, Pippen is still currently listed as a “Special Advisor to the President & COO” in the Bulls' staff directory, which has now been updated to reflect the hiring of Arturas Karnisovas as executive vice president of basketball operations.

Karnisovas has already gotten to work revamping his new-look front office, and he's working on hiring a new general manager and deciding on the coaching situation.
