Thaddeus Young of the Chicago Bulls spoke to his teammates after their fourth-quarter meltdown against the Los Angeles Lakers. According to the veteran forward, at some point, they have to pull themselves out of the hump and start winning.

“I came in and I talked to the guys. I told them at some point, it’s got to hurt. We’ve got to stop the bleeding at some point. It’s got to hurt. When it starts to hurt too bad, then that’s when we’re going to win.”

At the end of the half, the Bulls had the commanding lead over the Lakers, 65-48. The Lakers were off to a relatively slow start while the Bulls were scorching hot right off the bat.

But come the second half, the Lakers made defensive stop after defensive stop. Their baskets, too, started to fall. Kyle Kuzma’s consecutive baskets helped spark the impending Laker run. In the fourth quarter, they outscored the Bulls 38-19. They led by as much as 13 points and never looked back.

Young, who's now in his 14th year in the league, was picked up by the Bulls in the summer to be the team's veteran voice in the locker room. His significant experience is valuable for a team that's still trying to find its footing.

As the Bulls suffer another debilitating loss, the Bulls should hold onto Young's words as well as the tons of lessons learned from their previous meltdowns.
