After months of speculation, the Kyler Murray rumors can finally come to an end. The Arizona Cardinals quarterback has reportedly agreed to a brand-new extension. Initially, the only details released was that this extension will keep Murray on the team until the 2028 season. (via Ian Rapoport)

The Kyler Murray extension is a five-year deal worth over $230 million. This includes $160 million guaranteed for the Cardinals QB, making him the second-highest paid signal caller in the league.

The start of the 2022 offseason was a disastrous time for the Cardinals. Kyler Murray's bizarre Instagram actions led to speculation about his unhappiness with the team. It was reported that the quarterback could request a trade from his team just three years after he was drafted first overall by Arizona.

As the offseason started, though, the seemingly strained relationship between Murray and the Cardinals was slowly repaired. It was reported just a week ago that talks of a contract extension between the two parties were slowly coming to a close. Lo and behold, we got this massive extension for the quarterback.

Kyler Murray and the Cardinals are looking to redeem themselves after a disappointing 2021 season. They were ahead of the competition to start the season, only to fall apart as the playoffs arrived. Their postseason ended in an embarrassing beatdown to the eventual champions Los Angeles Rams.
