The Arizona Cardinals hold the No. 8 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and it's unclear what the organization intends to do when they are on the clock. With two months until the draft, Kyler Murray is lobbying to Arizona's general manager, Steve Keim, to draft CeeDee Lamb.

“From my text stream, you can tell Kyler likes him,” Keim said during an interview with Arizona Sports 98.7 FM, via the Arizona Republic.

Heading into the draft, Lamb is being regarded as one of the surefire receiver prospects. Cardinals GM Keim pointed out that Lamb reminds him of one of the best wide receivers that currently plays in the NFL.

“You watch CeeDee Lamb and there are some things that come to mind when I watch him that remind me a little bit of DeAndre Hopkins,” Keim said. “You talk about a guy that maybe isn’t the fastest vertically, but is gritty, tough and runs great routes.”

Of course, Murray has experience throwing passes to Lamb as they were teammates at Oklahoma from 2017-18. In 2018, the Cardinals' young signal-caller connected with Lamb 65 times for 1,158 yards and 11 touchdowns. When asked about the possibility of reuniting with Lamb, Murray voiced his approval.

“Me and CeeDee have a great relationship,” Murray said. “That’s one of my boys. I would obviously be very fond of that pick. Obviously, I don’t make the choices. I’m here for whatever, but I’m looking forward to free agency and us adding some great players and adding more of them in the draft so we can continue to grow this thing.

After a positive rookie campaign in 2019, the Cardinals are focused on surrounding Murray with more weapons on offense. Despite Larry Fitzgerald returning in 2020, Arizona would be wise to select Lamb in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
