The Arizona Cardinals haven't won a regular season football game this year, but head coach Steve Wilks is confident that rookie quarterback Josh Rosen will get the job done.

The No. 10 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft made his first NFL start on Sunday in a 20-17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. While he didn't get the win, he fired up his teammates and coaches. Wilks is happy he put them in a position to win, but he knows he will only continue to improve with time.

“When you look at some of the bright spots of the game yesterday, you definitely have to look at (Josh) Rosen,” Wilks told Katherine Fitzgerald of The Arizona Republic on Monday. “I thought he gave us every opportunity to win that football game. Again, very poised, great leader.”

“I’m very excited about what we have in Josh. He gave us a spark that we needed. It’s disappointing we just couldn’t finish yesterday.”

It's been made public that Josh Rosen is the polar opposite of former starter Sam Bradford. Rosen is a fiery, outspoken leader. Bradford is much more quiet. Rosen's demeanor seemed to bring the entire team's morale up on Sunday, which is something they can look forward to.

“Everybody, during the week when we found out, everybody wanted to step it up for the young guy and get out there and be able to help him get his first win, and we’re going to be able to do it soon,”  said defensive end Markus Golden.

They'll have a good shot to make their dream a reality against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5. Steve Wilks will continue to coach up his young star to prepare him to be the Cardinals' quarterback for years to come. However, it would take an impressive turnaround to save this season.
