While speaking to reporters at Summer League in Las Vegas, Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens had nothing but good things to say about the team's new starting point guard, All-Star Kemba Walker.

Walker will be replacing Kyrie Irving in Boston. Stevens is thrilled Walker decided to come to the Celtics and is excited to coach the star guard.

“Obviously, he’s a great player,” Stevens said, via Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe. “And he’s been able to continue to get better and better and better as his career has gone on. He’s made himself into an excellent shooter, he’s great off pick and rolls, he’s got incredible speed, can see the game, can read the game. He’s an awfully good player, and we’re excited he decided to come to Boston.”

Through a sign-and-trade deal with the Charlotte Hornets, Kemba Walker signed a four-year, $140.79 million contract with the Celtics. Walker joined Boston because he feels he can go on a deep playoff run with the Celtics.

With the Hornets in 2018-19, Walker averaged 25.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists while shooting 43.4 percent from the field, 35.6 percent from beyond the arc and 84.4 percent from the free-throw line.

He might not be as good as Irving is, but Walker isn't the diva or high-maintenance guy that Kyrie is.
