The Boston Celtics are embracing the youth movement, and veteran forward Gordon Hayward likes what he has seen so far.

Hayward, who has been training without restrictions this offseason, told Adam Himmelsbach of Boston Globe that he has been impressed by the performance of their rookies during the workouts he had with them.

It has been a busy offseason for the Celtics, who saw All-Stars Kyrie Irving and Al Horford leave in free agency. They did not only replaced the two with Kemba Walker and Enes Kanter, but they also managed to acquire young talent during the draft.

In June's rookie selection, the Celtics selected Indiana guard Romeo Langford with the 14th overall pick and Tennessee's Grant Williams at 22. They also acquired the draft rights to second-rounder Carsen Edwards and took LSU product Tremont Waters with the 51st pick.

Besides coming home with four new young players, the Celtics also signed UCF's Tacko Fall — who attratced a large following at the NBA's Summer League in Las Vegas.

Hayward has a lot to prove next season, but most importantly, he has to step up as a leader in Boston. Although he is not the longest tenured Celtic, his experience with Brad Stevens and time in the NBA should prove valuable in guiding Langford, Edwards, Williams and Waters.
