Boston Celtics star shooting guard Jaylen Brown may be back on the court sooner rather than later. NBA reporter Keith Smith tweeted positive news regarding the status of Brown's recent hamstring injury.

Brown “looks like he's getting close to a return” according to Smith. Originally, Celtics head coach Ime Udoka officially told reporters that Brown could be out for one to two weeks. The injury occurred during their game against the Heat on Nov. 4. Thursday will be exactly two weeks since the injury.

Brown has been ruled out for Wednesday's matchup between the Celtics and Atlanta Hawks. Even with a string of tough opponents over the next few days, there is hope that the team could get a boost with a nearby return of Brown.

He has been the most productive in terms of points per game for Boston with an average of 25.6. Not far behind is small forward Jayson Tatum, who has been picking up an average of 23.5 points each game. Tatum is a vital part of the team's offense, especially in the absence of Brown.

Wednesday, the Celtics look to break their .500 record of 7-7 with a win against Trae Young and the Hawks. On the other hand, the Hawks will attempt to extend their home winning streak and improve their current record of 6-9. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m. ET.
