Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics have a 2-1 advantage in the 2022 NBA Finals over the Golden State Warriors. They led for most of the game and survived a third-quarter onslaught from the Warriors to take the 116-00 victory.

Although the series is far from over, the Celtics have secured a good omen by accomplishing something that has only been done by champions. They have won seven games following a loss in this year's playoffs, which ties the record for the most ever.

The 2012-13 Miami Heat, 2008-09 Los Angeles Lakers, 1992-93 Chicago Bulls and 1977-78 Washington Bullets (who now go by the Wizards) are the only other teams to accomplish the feat. Even the Celtics' previous record of 6-0 after losses tied their 1973-74 squad, which also won it all. Although records don't help win in the NBA Finals, it's a promising sign for Boston as it seeks its first title since 2008.

Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart all had strong performances, posting 26, 27 and 24 points respectively, which put them in very rare company. Robert Williams provided tremendous energy and Al Horford stepped up to make key plays as well. Despite Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson combining for 56 points, the Celtics put on a strong defensive performance.

With one more win at home, the Celtics will get the chance to close out the series on the Warriors' home turf in Game 5. Golden State hasn't been very strong down the stretch of close games during this NBA Finals battle. Boston has to take advantage of that.
