Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart is keeping an upbeat attitude amid the growing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The 26-year-old defensive lynchpin turned to humor to diffuse the dire situation that has ravaged the entire world. Smart, who is in self-quarantine like the rest of the league, posted on Twitter a rather hilarious take on having the NBA season on hold for the meantime.

Apart from his defensive prowess, the six-year guard from Oklahoma State is perhaps best known for his fiery attitude on the floor. His intensity often gets him in trouble with the referees, and he has paid his share of hefty fines over the years.

The 6-foot-3 guard recently shelled out $35,000 to the league for confronting and verbally abusing referees after the Celtics' 129-120 overtime home loss to the Brooklyn Nets last week.

Marcus Smart also updated his fans about his current situation and advised everyone to stay indoors and enjoy the downtime to be with their loved ones.

Smart, along with the rest of the Celtics, had to be tested for the coronavirus since they were one of the five teams who took on the Utah Jazz before the NBA's suspension of games last Wednesday. Jazz All-stars Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell both tested positive for COVID-19.

The test results came back negative for the Celtics, as well as for the New York Knicks, Toronto Raptors, Detroit Pistons and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Smart, meanwhile, was having a phenomenal season with the Celtics before the abrupt suspension of games. He was notching 13.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.6 steals in 53 games.
