Boston fans may be upset at Kyrie Irving for leaving the Boston Celtics to join the Brooklyn Nets, and when a top-tier player leaves one team for another, people often burn their jerseys to show their anger and frustration.

But for NBC Sports Boston, burning Irving's jersey is a waste of time and money, so they thought of another alternative for fans who would like to get rid of Kyrie's Celtics merchandise:

Irving's fallout with the Celtics has been well-documented, but his relationship with them wasn't always bad. When Kyrie was traded to Boston a couple of years back, he seemed to have every intention to stay. He even went public and said, “I'd re-sign if they want me.”

From there, things started to crumble for the Celtics this past season. After being dubbed one of the best teams in the East, Boston struggled to live up to expectations. They were inconsistent throughout the year but managed to end up as the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference heading into the playoffs.

Then it looked like things were finally going the Celtics' way when they swept the Indiana Pacers in the first round and won Game 1 of the second round against the Milwaukee Bucks. They had the momentum on their side and were poised to turn the tables around. But in a stunning turn of events, the Bucks just decimated the Celtics in the next four games.

From there, countless reports and speculation came out about Irving not wanting to play with his teammates, and vice versa. Although Celtics management made it clear they wanted to keep him, it was pretty obvious that Kyrie no longer wanted to be a part of the franchise.

So, if you're a Celtics fan and you want to burn Kyrie's jersey, think again. There's an alternative now.
