Kyrie Irving looks like he’s ready for the start of the regular season. The new Boston Celtics point guard’s trademark handles and finishes around the rim looked right on point as he easily blew by Charlotte Hornets big man Dwight Howard and had a nifty finish for a transition layup.

Celtics reporter Marc D'Amico posted a video of Irving's gorgeous move on Twitter.

A much younger and in-his-prime Dwight Howard possibly might’ve had a chance to stay with Kyrie Irving on the break, but this current, aging version of the Hornets big man with all his back problems and other physical ailments simply had no chance of stopping Kyrie Irving on the open floor.

The Celtics star had a nice all-around game against the Hornets, putting up 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting, with 10 assists and five boards in 27 minutes of play to follow up his 21-point outing against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Irving looks like he’s primed and ready for the Celtics’ season opener, which will be his much-awaited meet up with LeBron James and the Cavaliers in Cleveland on Tuesday, Oct. 17. Get hyped.
