Numbers never lie. Well, sometimes they might be misleading, but whatever. It is especially a whatever type of situation if you want to start praising Los Angeles Chargers defensive back Casey Hayward.

That's mighty impressive. It is worth noting that Hayward has had the benefit of playing some iffy quarterbacks over that period of time, which might tilt the numbers a bit in his favor.
The corner might not be a household name, but he did make the Pro Bowl last season. After securing two interceptions against the Buffalo Bills, in the “Nathan Peterman Game,” he appears destined to make his second in a row.
A second round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, Hayward is well traveled for a player of his talents. After spending 2012-15 with the Green Bay Packers, he has since settled in as an important part of the Chargers' defense.
He actually led all of the National Football League in interceptions last season. For his career, he has 69 (nice) pass deflections.
What is somewhat odd about the corner is that he's had two full seasons go by without an interception. In the years he has gotten some INTs, they have come in bunches. Maybe that is due to quarterbacks avoiding his side of the field.
Nevertheless, at least according to the last six weeks, Hayward appears to be one of the better cornerbacks in football in terms of data.
