The Los Angeles Chargers have just been dealt with a significant blow ahead of their Week 17 matchup against the Denver Broncos.  Justin Herbert and the Chargers will be without one of their most important pieces on the offensive end as they look to secure their spot in this season's playoffs picture.

According to reports, LA tight end Jared Cook has been listed on the COVID-19 reserve list after testing positive for the virus (h/t Around The NFL on Twitter):

Cook is the latest addition to the Chargers' growing list of players placed on the COVID-19 reserve, which currently stands at 10 active roster players. The good news for LA is that they could get a few of them back ahead of Sunday's tilt against the Broncos.

Incidentally, Denver is likewise dealing with several COVID issues within their ranks. On Friday, star outside linebacker Bradley Chubb and Jerry Jeudy were both also placed on the COVID-19 reserve and are set to miss Sunday's game.

A win here will strengthen the Chargers' push for the postseason as they look to improve on their 8-7 record. LA currently shares an identical record with the Las Vegas Raiders in the AFC West, while the 7-8 Broncos will have their season on the line on Sunday in what is going to be a must-win contest for them.
