The Los Angeles Rams made headlines with the reveal of their new logo and team colors. It appears they are not the only team in town making some changes.

The Los Angeles Chargers took to social media to reveal their new team logo as well:

Both teams are in the midst of ushering in a new era at SoFi Stadium in the 2020 NFL season. As a result, it seems they were adamant about showing off the logo that will be featured at the $6 billion, state-of-the-art venue.

The Chargers have struggled to make their presence felt in Los Angeles ever since the relocation. Unlike the Rams, most of their team history was made in San Diego and their unceremonious departure has left them without much of their fan support.

As a result, they have put an emphasis on trying to tap into their new market. The timing of their reveal was hardly a coincidence after the Rams had received plenty of backlash for the designs that they put out. It is clear both teams are still doing what they can to tap into a fan base that was without the NFL for more than two decades prior to the 2016 campaign.

Of course, the “Battle for L.A.” will continue to be decided by the team that is more competitive. Not only were the Rams working with an advantage in fan support when they came to town, but they followed it up by emerging into playoff contenders. Meanwhile, the Chargers are still struggling to keep their 27,000-seat stadium from being invaded by visiting fans.
