On 2nd and Goal from the 5-yard line, Herbert ran a play-action pass, rolling out to his right. He would look for a pass before deciding to take it himself, diving into the end zone for the Chargers touchdown, creating a wild end to a dizzying third quarter inside SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.

This was the fourth touchdown between the teams in six minutes, with the Chargers scoring two touchdowns in two minutes. Herbert has been very impressive through his first season in the NFL. Thus far this season Herbert has thrown for 1,195 yards and nine touchdowns while rushing for 55 yards and a touchdown prior to this game. He has to be considered a favorite for the Rookie of the Year award.
