The Kansas City Chiefs are not off to the start they hoped they would be this season. The Chiefs are 2-2 through four weeks, with losses to the Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2 and Week 3, respectively. They got back in the right column in Week 4 vs. the Philadelphia Eagles, but they are still on their way to truly righting the ship and looking like the Super Bowl favorites many pegged them as coming into the season.

Kansas City recently signed the newly reinstated Josh Gordon to help out the team. Monday morning in his press conference, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Gordon has a “chance” to suit up in Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football. The wideout has reportedly looked good in practice.

Gordon last played in the NFL in 2019, when he spent time with both the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots. He finished that season with 27 catches for 426 yards and one touchdown. For his career, Gordon has compiled 247 catches for 4,252 yards and 20 touchdowns since coming into the league in 2012. In his second season, 2013, Gordon tallied 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns in 14 games.

The Chiefs have struggled to find depth at the receiver position this season following the departure of Sammy Watkins this offseason. Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce combine for the lion's share of the targets and touchdowns this season. Patrick Mahomes could have another deadly weapon if Gordon is able to suit up, though we'll have to see what kind of shape he's in after not playing at all in 2020. Gordon has notoriously battled suspensions throughout his career and was just reinstated by the NFL following his latest suspension.
