Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill is embroiled in controversy, as an investigation into the possible battery of his child at his home could result in him being charged with a crime. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid says he has not been in touch with Hill since the news broke:

“We’re just letting it take its course,” said Reid, according to Terez A. Paylor of Yahoo Sports. “Did I expect it to happen? I don’t know what happened. That’s what they’re trying to figure out.”

As for what course of action the Chiefs will take if Hill is, in fact, charged with a crime? He is being tight-lipped, as one would expect:

“We’ve talked,” Reid said at the coaches’ breakfast with media members at the NFL’s annual league meeting, according to Mark Maske of The Washington Post. “But I’m not going to go into that. We’ve talked about things. But there’s nothing more really to report than what we talked about before, the statement we put out. We had the initial talk. But there’s nothing that’s followed up on that.”

Hill, who has been in trouble with the law due to his anger issues in the past, is coming off of a terrific 2018 NFL campaign in which he hauled in 87 receptions for 1,479 yards and 12 touchdowns while also scoring rushing and punt return touchdowns en route to a Pro Bowl appearance and a First-Team All-Pro selection.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at West Alabama, was originally selected by Kansas City in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
