The incident that involved Kansas City Chiefs' Pro Bowl running back Kareem Hunt sent shock-waves throughout the league.

No wonder, the 23-year old's career is in deep jeopardy as teams are hesitant to give him another shot.

He was immediately released following the release of a video showing him physically assaulting a 19-year old woman after an argument with her. It took place at a hotel in Cleveland. The Chiefs have shown that they will not tolerate that kind of action. It is a clear statement made by the team that no matter how good you are, your character is still important.

The Chiefs have promoted Spencer Ware as their starting running back. But he's had a rough day in their 40-35 win against the Oakland Raiders. He carried the ball 14 times for 47 yards and a touchdown.

As a result, the Chiefs are looking for available running backs in order to provide a supporting role.

According to Mike Florio of NBCSports, the Chiefs look to the direction of C.J. Anderson, who was just released by the Carolina Panthers. He is ready to be signed while he passes a physical.

Anderson played for division rival Denver Broncos in five seasons. There he recorded 3,051 total yards rushing and 20 touchdowns. He also won a Super Bowl with the team in 2016.

His best season came last year when he was finally able to crack the 1,000-yard mark. On 245 carries that year he recorded 1,007 yards and three touchdowns.

Anderson made a jump to the Panthers, but his stint there did not last long after he was released last November 12.
