The NFL offseason became even crazier on Wednesday with news surfacing that Tyreek Hill could be on his way out as the Kansas City Chiefs gave him permission to seek a trade after contract negotiations broke down.

With the Chiefs set to lose one of the most versatile and electric wideouts in the sport, they're already pinpointing a potential replacement for Hill: Free agent Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

Via Tom Pelissero:

Valdes-Scantling played for the Packers across the last four seasons after getting picked up in the fifth round of the NFL Draft in 2018. He's collected 13 touchdowns in 59 games. Like Hill, Valdes-Scantling is very quick and shift, giving Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes another threat out wide.

2021 was a quiet season for Valdes-Scantling, playing in just 11 games due to injury. While nothing is set in stone yet for him and the Chiefs, this would definitely be a solid signing. They already brought in JuJu Smith-Schuster as well.

Losing Tyreek Hill is far from ideal. But this Chiefs team is more than just one player. Valdes-Scantling would get a relatively established role in Kansas City on an already promising receiving corps. Let's hope the visit goes well and the two sides come to an agreement.

As for Hill, it looks like he could end up on the New York Jets or Miami Dolphins, with a big extension coming his way.
